40 years ago, A Town Called Malice by The Jam was released. Disguised by its upbeat tune and feel good beat, it actually tells the dark and truthful story of what life was like during the early 1980s. Although issues such as war and recession aren’t so common in this country anymore, we are seeing problems like inflation and housing issues which are affecting the cost of living.

I created an editorial piece of work which illustrates these issues. I chose to use collage as my medium and through that used items from the 1980s and layered things you would see today to contrast each other.

The book itself was researched, designed, printed and bound by me.
